Learning Goals

  • Describe requirements for "Learning From Assessment" assignment.
  • Explain Bloom's taxonomy can be used to plan our lessons.
  • Using Bloom's Taxonomy and topic mindmaps to analyze student work.
  • Share ideas for how we're using technology to plan, teach and reflect.

Agenda

  • Opening: How are things going? (Going beyond brief story telling)
    • Think of a high point or low point your teaching that occurred since we last met. (Do not count the holiday)
    • Review the steps in these teacher reflection models, and choose one that you like.
    • On an index card, write down a sentence or two about the event you chose for at least 3 elements of your reflection model.
    • Be prepared to share your reflections with the class.
  • How are we using technology to plan, teach, and assess?
    • Meet with English Student Teachers to compare notes. (5:00 to 5:30)
      • How have you used technology in your teaching?
      • How have you been using your iPad (if you have one)?

  • Using Bloom's Taxonomy(BT) to Plan, Teach, and Assess
    • Review the requirements for the Learning from Assessment Assignment.
    • Work in a group of 3. Each group member should choose a different BT resource to review.
    • Copy the worksheet from this shared Evernote Notebook into your Evernotes to analyze your students' work.
    • Answer the questions in your "Learning from Informal and Formal Assessment" assignment as you can.
